LEWISTON – Adrienne Richard, 91, formerly of 208 Central Ave., Lewiston, died Tuesday, April 29, at d’Youville Pavilion, where she had been a resident for the past year
She was born in Canada on Aug. 2, 1916, the daughter of Joseph A. and Marie Cote Begin. She moved to Lewiston at the age of 6 and was educated in local schools.
On May 19, 1943, she married Armand J. Richard. She was employed in the Emergency Room of St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center for 14 years, and then went to work as an office manager for Dr. Tsukasa Horie and later Dr. Wilfred Cloutier.
A member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, she also belonged to les Enfants de Marie and Dames de St. Anne. She came from a very talented family, and had a lifelong love of music, playing the piano and for many years singing in the Saints Peter and Paul choir.
Survivors include her husband of Lewiston; a son, Paul and wife, Francine, of Lewiston; a brother, Samuel Begin; two sisters, Therese Arsenault and Rolande Begin, all of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Marie Richard, Michelle and husband, Billy Tenaglia, and Dominique Richard; and one great-grandchild, Madeleine Tenaglia.
The family would like to thank Dr. Yacoub and his staff, the Sisters of Mercy, and the staff of Beacon Hospice for all the loving care they gave Adrienne.
