French horn soloist Natasha Proctor and Bob Rand rehearse for the Androscoggin Valley Community Orchestra’s Sunday, May 4, concert. A principal of the orchestra, Proctor is on the faculty at Poland Community School, where she teaches instrumental music and math. She serves as horn coach, librarian and concert manager for the Southern Maine Junior Music Academy at the University of Southern Maine. For the last 24 years, she has served as organist at the South Bridgton Congregational Church. She has been associated with the Bridgton Community Band since 1972, first as a player in the horn section and later as a self-taught percussionist, moving to the conductor’s podium at the beginning of the 2000 season. She is also a member of the Casco Bay Concert Band and is a regular community player for the Bowdoin College Concert Band. The concert will begin at 3 p.m. at the High Street Congregational Church, 106 Pleasant St., Auburn. Tickets, $6, will be available at the door. Students admitted free.
