SOUTH PARIS – Erica Morin and Maria Labbe both smashed two-run home runs in the fourth inning as Lewiston rolled to a 12-3 victory over Oxford Hills in a KVAC softball tilt Wednesday.
Danielle Willey belted a solo shot in the seventh to give the Blue Devils (3-1) three home runs overall.
Willey gave up six hits in seven innings to post the mound win.
The Vikings (3-1) were paced by Lana Wheeler with three hits, highlighted by a double. Kristy Jurczak worked the first three innings and was saddled with the loss.
Nokomis 5, Mt. Blue 0
FARMINGTON – Pitcher Patrice Cianchette helped her won cause by plating the initial run and eventual game-winner as Nokomis took a comfortable 5-0 win over Mt. Blue in KVAC softball action Wednesday.
Cianchette rapped an RBI double in the top of the fourth inning for the Warriors. Johanna LaPlante recorded the only hit for the Cougars (0-5) on an infield single.
Livermore Falls 13, Carrabec 4
LIVERMORE FALLS – Livermore Falls scored six runs on the strength of four hits, three walks and three errors in the fourth inning Wednesday, taking control of a 13-4 MVC softball triumph over Carrabec.
Jayde Purington ripped a triple and a single for the Andies (1-1). Samantha Greenwood and Kayla Wilson each added two hits.
St. Dom’s 13, OOB 6
OLD ORCHARD BEACH – Jen Cullen struck out 10 batters and singled and doubled, and teammate Heidi Nadeau punched out two singles and doubled, leading St. Dom’s to a 13-6 victory over Old Orchard Beach in softball Wednesday.
The Saints opened up with six runs in the second inning, building a 9-0 lead. Lindsey Nance homered, Erynne Landry doubled and Mary Lewis doubled and singled as St. Dom’s cruised in its opener.
The Saints used an eight-hit attack to stop the Seagulls and only made two errors.
Fryeburg 2, Freeport 0
FREEPORT – Junior pitcher Hannah Hill collected 14 strikeouts and notched a no-hitter as Fryeburg grabbed a 2-0 win over Freeport in WMC softball action Wednesday.
Both teams were strong on defense as neither squad was able to produce a hit. Olivia Doane tallied 12 strikeouts for the Falcons.
Oak Hill 12, Rockland 0
ROCKLAND – Becca Roberts went 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs to lead Oak Hill to a 12-0 rout over Rockland in KVAC softball action.
Cadie Rodrigue chipped in for the Raiders (1-0) with two doubles and three RBIs, while Lauren Hall belted a three-run home run.
Brittany Wood gave up just two hits in a stellar performance on the hill.
Rockland (1-2) was led by Kasey Felt with two hits in the game.
EL 10, Brunswick 6
AUBURN – Emily Grund belted three hits and sparked a four-run second inning for Edward Little as it rolled over Brunswick 10-6 in a softball matchup Wednesday.
Grund led the Eddies (2-2) with three RBIs, while Alyssa Levesque, Megan Hussar, Becca Whitten and Kayla Cummings all belted two hits each. Levesque picked up the mound win with a five-hit performance.
The Dragons (1-4) were paced by Emily Hartzell with two hits, while Jess Russell was saddled with the loss.
Lisbon 13, Dirigo 1
LISBON – The Lisbon Greyhounds unloaded on Dirigo with a 10-run outburst in the fourth inning and cruised to a 13-1 victory over Dirigo in a softball game Wednesday.
Lisbon’s Emily Moore, Christy McAuliffe and Brooke Merritt eached doubled in the opener. Moore got the win on the mound.
For Dirigo, Kristina White doubled and Brittany Palmer was the team’s only repeat hitter.
Lacrosse
EL 13, Lincoln 7
AUBURN – Kirsten Prue scored a game-high six goals to lead Edward Little to a 13-7 victory over Lincoln in KVAC girl’s lacrosse action Wednesday at Central Maine Community College.
Hannah Parent and Karen Leary chipped in for Eddies (2-1) with two goals each, while single tallies by Sam Dean, Carmen Lasagne and Katie Williamson completed the scoring. Liz Barclay made 15 saves to post the win.
Lincoln was paced by Molly Stackhouse with three goals, while Carney Hamilton added two. Allie Barnes and Katrina also netted goals to fill out the final tally.
