NORWAY – The Celebration of the Short Story at Norway Memorial Library will conclude with “Selected Stories: a Live Reading Event” at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 3.

The program will feature four stories that were selected from entries in a short story writing contest. The winning stories, which will be read by their authors, are “Wheel of Fortune” by Amy Chapman, “Payback” by Jennifer Dupree, “On the Road to Damascus” by Katherine Greenleaf and “The Bed” by Andrew Scott Turner.

This is the final program in a series that began in October of 2007 and included a talk by writer Lewis Robinson, a short story reading and discussion group, an original short story writing workshop and a Reader’s Theatre performance of Sarah Orne Jewett’s “A White Heron” and the writing contest.

The free event is open to the public. All programs in the Celebration of the Short Story were made possible by a grant from the Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation. For more information, call 743-5309.
