NEW GLOUCESTER – SAD 15 directors finalized a $21 million budget Wednesday and set a districtwide vote on it for June 5.

The board adopted a $21,041,712 budget that includes $12,200 for Russell School kindergarten ed techs; $3,000 for referendum expenses; $1,931 for freshman girls soccer coach; and $5,922 for football equipment reconditioning.

The board figured $119,987 for adult education and $175,000 for capital reserve funds for paving and a new entrance at Gray-New Gloucester High School.

An undesignated fund balance of $800,000 will be used to lessen the impact on taxes.

The district budget meeting will be held June 5 for Gray and New Gloucester voters, who can amend amounts lower, but not higher than listed.

On June 10, a referendum in both towns will be held to give final approval of the budget, as required by state law.
