FARMINGTON – The Maine Set-Aside Committee of the Emergency Food and Shelter Program has announced that an extra $2,484 in funding will be awarded to food banks throughout Franklin County in 2008.

The amount will be added onto the federal award of $19,346, resulting in a total allocation of $21,830 for the year.

Emergency food and shelter program funding enables local food banks and pantries to provide more than 12,000 meals to people and families in Franklin County.
