The Mutineers of southern Maine will play traditional folk, blues and old-time country music at 8 p.m. Friday, May 2, at She Doesn’t Like Guthries in Lewiston. Their sound is created with guitar, mandolin, acoustic bass, dobro and banjo. Songs are selected, arranged and sung by Stuart MacDonald. He is joined by multitalented stand-up acoustic bassist Rod Pervier, who plays contra dances and other events. Rounding out the trio is Jeff Trippe, a multi-instrumentalist originally from the South where he performed with various bands over the years. He has also worked as a solo act and recording artist. The trio’s first CD is titled “Where Mockingbirds Roam.” There is no cover for the performance at Guthries, 115 Middle St. For more information, call 376-3344 or visit myspace.com/guthriesplace.
