AUGUSTA – Spectrum Generations, the central Maine area agency on aging, has announced that Meals on Wheels volunteers George Moore of Topsham and Patricia Oh of Bowdoin were recipients of 2008 Governor’s Volunteer Service Awards at the State House Hall of Flags recently.
For the past 21 years, the awards have been awarded to celebrate and recognize the exemplary work of Maine volunteers. “Spectrum Generations is thrilled that two of our hard working volunteers were recognized by the governor and the Maine Commission on Community Service for their unflagging support of Meals on Wheels,” said Debbie Atwood, nutrition coordinator. “We couldn’t do it without them and the other 60 volunteers who give their time to this and other programs every week here in the Brunswick area.”
State Sen. Paula Benoit was on hand to present Moore and Oh with a Legislative Sentiment honoring their work and commitment and to personally thank them for serving seniors in Sagadahoc County.
