AUBURN – Central Maine Community College will begin its annual summer session with the first courses starting the week of May 12 and ending the week of June 30. Most classes meet twice a week (Tuesday/Thursday or Monday/Wednesday) and there are still openings.
All courses carry three college credits, which can be applied to a program at CM or another college or university.
“This is a great way for students who are home for the summer to get some credits toward their degree, while they’re here – and at a very reasonable cost,” said CM Dean Roger Philippon. “Registration is open and ongoing for all students, either online, by mail, phone or fax, or walk-in.”
Among the courses being offered are “College Writing,” “Technical Writing,” “Critical Thinking” and “Interpersonal Communication.”
Social science courses include “Introduction to Psychology,” “Introduction to Sociology,” “Developmental Psychology” and “Introduction to American Politics.”
“Basic Math,” “Algebra I,” “Intermediate Algebra” and “College Algebra” are open, and the business department is offering “Principles of Marketing” and “Business Communication.”
A complete list of courses available for the summer session and the fall semester can be found at www.cmcc.edu by clicking on “Course Offerings.” The second session of the summer will start July 8. Registration can be done by telephone at 755-5292 or 800-891-2002.
