AUGUSTA – Portland attorney Terry Duddy took the helm this month as president of the Maine Trial Lawyers Association.

The MTLA’s new slate of officers also includes President-elect Daniel Kagan of Lewiston, Secretary Peter Clifford of Kennebunk, Treasurer John McArdle III of Portland, and past President Don Briggs of Rockport.

The new officers took their new positions during the association’s annual meeting in Freeport in April. They serve one-year terms.

Kagan, who will assume the presidency in 2009, is a partner in the firm of Berman and Simmons of Lewiston.
