Now that Michael Heath of the Christian Civic League of Maine and his constant battle against gay rights are back in the news, I have a question and two comments.
What would he do if one of his children or a grandchild turned out to be gay?
I do not think that people have a choice in the matter.
Laws are passed to correct abuse, be it gay bashing, domestic violence, slavery, equal pay, elder, child or animal abuse, bullying or any other kind of cruelty toward others. These laws do not create a special privilege. They are an attempt to correct something that should never happen in the first place.
I quote Shakespeare: “Me thinks thou doest protest too much”!
