AUGUSTA – Jeannette D. Martin, 88, of 30 Leighton Park Drive, Winthrop, died Thursday, May 1, at Maine General Hospital.

She was born in Lawrence, Mass., on July 8, 1919, a daughter of the late Raoul and Desilda Delorge Daigle. She was educated in local schools.

She married Joseph Normand Martin on June 13, 1950. Together they raised their two sons on Chadborne Road in Lewiston. He died Jan. 27, 1981.

She was employed in local shoe shops and worked in the textile industry.

She was a member of the Lewiston Catholic community at the Holy Family Parish. In her later years, she enjoyed bingo and loved to dance.

She is survived by two sons, Normand Martin and wife, Irene, of Wales, and Michael Martin of Winthrop; five grandchildren, Jacob Martin and fiancée, Ginger Bragg, of Wales, Nathan Martin and fiancée, Marcia Bubier, of Wales, Michael Martin and wife, Lesley, of Wales, Heather Martin of Wales, and Christina Martin of California; a great-granddaughter, Ella Lynn Martin; and a sister, Beatrice Popadak of Virginia.

She was predeceased by her husband; four brothers, Arthur, Leo, Raymond and Armand; and two sisters, Rita and Yvonne.
