LEWISTON – Dr. Paul G. Caron will present a lecture titled “Math, Music and Memories: An Alliterative (and Literal) Journey” at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, at USMLA’s Senior College membership meeting.
Caron teaches math, science and education at the Lewiston-Auburn campus. His multi-media lecture will focus on his own journey toward his avocation and passion as a musician, performer and composer.
Caron is a St. Dominic Regional High School alumnus, did his undergraduate work at the University of Lowell in Massachusetts and his post-graduate and doctoral studies at Boston College. He has performed at Community Little Theater, the Public Theatre, the Maine State Music Theater and in Las Vegas and Moscow.
He composed the music and lyrics for the nationally known award-winning show “Lewiston: A New Home.” Caron’s works are in the Library of Congress and his liturgical compositions are performed at Holy Family Church.
The meeting will include words of welcome by Senior College Chairwoman Rose Goodwin and Acting L-A College Dean Marvin Druker. Election will follow to replace out-going board members.
Refreshments will be served at the end of the program. The meeting will take place in Room 170 at the college. Board members Pauline and Robert Gilbert are co-chairs of the special event.
