BUCKFIELD – A Buckfield man was charged with stabbing his father in the head Monday night after they fought over a pair of scissors.
Cody Kreworuka, 22, of 22 Turner St. was arrested at the family’s home shortly after the 5:45 p.m. call to the Oxford County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy Bill Nelson said.
Kreworuka was charged with aggravated assault and taken to the Oxford County Jail in Paris with an order to appear in Oxford County Superior Court on July 24 to answer the felony, he said. He remained in jail Monday night on $10,000 cash bail.
His father, Abe Kreworuka, 59, suffered a stab wound to the head and was treated at the scene by Buckfield Rescue, the investigator said.
“Cody had locked himself in the bathroom with a pair of scissors,” he explained, and his father broke the bathroom door down.
“When they came in contact with each other,” he said, “a fight ensued, and Cody ended up with a cut on his hand from the scissors and Abe ended up with a stab wound to the head from the scissors and a big chunk of hair ripped out,” the deputy said.
“His father says, ‘He stabbed me’ and Cody says otherwise,” Nelson stated. He did not elaborate.
Both men were outside and bleeding when the deputy arrived.
The scissors, which “looked like a pair of barber scissors” with six-inch blades, were confiscated as evidence.
Drugs and alcohol were not involved, he said.
Assisting Nelson was Maine State Police Trooper Greg Tirado.
