AUGUSTA – Carroll Warren Banks, 74, passed away on April 29, at the Togus Veterans’ Medical Center.
He was born on May 8, 1933, at Ripley, the son of Vernard Lancaster and Norma Tweedie Lancaster Banks and was the stepson of Fred H. Banks.
He graduated from Edward Little High School. He was a veteran of both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force. After his military service, he returned to school, graduating from the University of Maine at Machias and taught mathematics and business courses at Oxford Hills High School for many years. He later dealt in antiques as “C BANKS FOR IT.”
He is survived by his companion, Doris Welding of Lewiston; brother, Thomas W. Banks of Yorktown, Va.; nephews, Andrew Sturtevant and wife, Angela, of Saco and Eric Banks of Houston, Texas; niece, Stephanie Banks of Chesapeake, Va.; aunt, Phyllis Banks of Lincoln; and a host of cousins scattered over the United States.
He was predeceased by his mother; his stepfather; and his sister, Diane Sharon Banks Sturtevant.
