JAY – A memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Claire D. Castonguay was held Friday at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, with the Rev. Roger Chabot as celebrant. Claire’s grandchildren served as the honorary bearers leading the processional into church. The readings were done by Marcel Castonguay and Stephen Duguay. Grandchildren, Mariah, Catie, Casey and Caroline brought the gifts forward and family friend, Lisa Morgan with Claire’s grandchildren accompanying her at the microphone, gave the eulogy. The resurrection choir sang “Come to Me” as the gathering song, “Amazing Grace” for the processional, “On Eagle’s Wings” as the Psalm, “Prayer of St. Francis” as the offertory hymn, “Ave Maria” for communion, “Take Her Hand” for the final commendation and “J’Irai La Voir” for the recessional out of church. Interment followed at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Livermore Falls and her family hosted a time of fellowship and refreshment at the AMVETS Hall in Jay.
