LEESBURG, Fla. – Kenneth “Skip” C. Burns, 65, of Leesburg, Fla., formerly of New Gloucester, passed away on Sunday, May 4.
He was born in Lewiston, Sept. 28, 1942, to Clifton W. and Marie V. Burns of New Gloucester.
Skip graduated from New Gloucester High School in 1960.
He worked for 20 years as a materials technician at the Maine Department of Transportation. After retiring, he worked several years seasonally for Tilcon Inc. in Wells, and Pike Industries in New Hampshire.
He loved people and will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity. He had a great love his whole life for the sport of harness racing. He also enjoyed traveling and went on many trips throughout the United States and Canada.
He has one surviving sister, Pauline M. Bragdon of Sebago Lake, and Marco Island, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Elisabeth J. Jackson of Casco.
