SKOWHEGAN (AP) – A 23-year-old Skowhegan man has pleaded not guilty to a manslaughter charge in the death of his 5-week-old daughter.
Mika Mitchell was returned to the Somerset County Jail following his arraignment Monday in Superior Court in Skowhegan.
Mitchell’s daughter, Pandora, died March 6, three days after she was taken to a hospital with injuries that triggered suspicions of abuse. The state medical examiner’s office has determined the infant’s death to be a homicide. No trial date for Mitchell has been set.
