Kids shouldn’t be allowed to have cell phones in school because students could text friends instead of paying attention in class. Second, students could be getting themselves in trouble if the phone goes off in class. Third, if students can use phones in school then whose to say they wouldn’t use them to cheat on a test? Finally if students can use their cell phones other students could be bullied by either not having a phone or they could get very mean or scary text from someone they don’t even know.

First, students shouldn’t be able to use phones because then students would feel free to use them when ever they wanted which could cause them to not pay attention in class. If students aren’t paying attention in class then their grades could go down. An example of this could be a straight A student just got a new phone for her birthday. She wants to show all of her friends, so she decides to show it to them during one of her classes, but then she starts bring it to every class and plays with it. When she checks her grades and find that she has gone down two letter grades she decides to stop bring her phone to class and to start paying attention instead of playing with her phone.

Second, students shouldn’t be able to use phones in school because they could get themselves into trouble, say if someone calls them during a class. Also, if a phone goes off in class it could disrupt the whole class and it may even make the class get off topic of their work. An example of this is that a student is waiting for news on his fathers surgery so he keeps his phone on, then when his mother calls him he remembers that he left his phone on full blast and when it goes off his teacher gets really mad so she takes his phone and gives him a detention.

Third, students shouldn’t be able to use phones in school because if students can use phones in school whose to say that they wouldn’t use them to cheat on a test. An example of this is a student has forgotten to study for a very important test so the student decides to talk to her friend about having her text all of the answers to her.

Finally, if students can use their cell phones other students could be bullied by either not having a phone or they could get scary text from someone they don’t even know. Also, someone could send a text saying that there is a bomb in the school then every one would have to evacuate, then kids might not feel safe in school and if you can’t feel safe in school then where can you feel safe? An example of this is that a student get s a text from an unknown phone number saying that he has a gun is going to use it, this child is frightened and doesn’t know to tell or not in fear that the unknown person is telling the truth. This is a very possible event.

People might disagree with me saying that phones should be allowed in school because parents should be able to reach their child in school. Well if parents want to reach their child in school then they should just call the office and have the office workers tell their child.
