FARMINGTON – A three-car crash Wednesday on Wilton Road sent one woman to the hospital.

The three cars were heading west toward Wilton just before 1 p.m. when one car changed lanes to make a left turn near the Irving Big Stop, police officer Mary Hastings said.

The next vehicle stopped suddenly, and the third vehicle in line was unable to stop and hit the middle vehicle, which then hit the lead car, she said.

The car that was unable to stop was driven by Wanda Ramey, 39, of Wilton, Hastings said.

She complained of neck and back pain and was taken by a NorthStar ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital, she said.

The second car was operated by Kristina Jellison, 37, of Livermore Falls. Neither Jellison nor her passengers, two children, ages 2 and 9, were hurt, she said.

The lead vehicle was driven by Maureen Marchetti-Martin, 50, of Farmington, who was also uninjured, Hastings said.

She estimated that there was little damage done to Marchetti-Martin’s car but Jellison’s car had front-end and rear-end damage, and Ramey’s vehicle had extensive front-end damage, probably greater than $5,000.

Hastings was assisted at the scene by officer Bill Cook, Farmington firefighters and NorthStar as well as an off-duty University of Maine at Farmington public safety officer, Adam Welch.

He called in the accident, Hastings said.
