LEWISTON – Patricia DeFosse ripped an RBI single with the bases loaded in the eighth inning as Lewiston edged Brunswick 6-5 in a KVAC softball matchup Wednesday.

Sam Morency’s two-run double sparked a four-run third inning for the Blue Devils (6-1), while Erica Morin also contributed with an RBI single. Danielle Willey gave up five hits but salvaged the win.

The Dragons (2-4) went scoreless through six before tying the game in the seventh inning. Jess Russell went the distance and took her fourth loss of the season.

Mt. Abram 16, Livermore Falls 3

LIVERMORE FALLS – Kenni Norton hit a two-run triple in the second inning and a two-run double in the fifth inning to lead Mt. Abram to a 16-3 triumph in six innings over Livermore Falls in softball action Wednesday.

The Roadrunners (4-2) took advantage of 12 Livermore Falls errors en route to their victory.

The Andies (3-3) were paced by Brittany Souther with a double, and Samantha Greenwood with a pair of singles.

Morse 16, Leavitt 12

TURNER – Meagan Henessey belted an RBI double in the seventh inning as Morse pulled away for a 16-12 victory over Leavitt.

Henessey led the Shipbuilders (2-5) with two hits and three RBIs, while Aljardra Rodriguez also knocked in three runs. Emma Seeley and Kate Thibodeau belted RBI doubles for Morse. Henessey earned the mound win despite giving up nine runs in the first three innings.

The Hornets (1-6) were paced by Megan Miller, Paige Dyer and Heidi Swett with two hits each. Alevia Bradley went the distance and was saddled with the loss.

Madison 9, Dirigo 0

MADISON – Jessica Hayden smacked a two-run double to pace Madison to a 9-0 victory over Dirigo on Wednesday afternoon.

Erin Lightbody had a pair of singles for the Bulldogs (2-3), while Brittany Lichtenfels earned the win.

The Cougars were led by Nicole Berry and Kayla Chaisson with two singles apiece.

Telstar 5, Jay 4

BETHEL – Candace Hall fanned 10 batters to earn the win and help Telstar secure a 5-4 victory over Jay in an MVC softball matchup.

Kayla Merrill hit a two-run single in the second inning with two outs to help the Rebels (4-0) cause.

Tasha Hebert had a two-run single for the Tigers (3-3), while Zane Armandi hit a pair of singles.

St. Dom’s 7, Richmond 4

RICHMOND – Alex Landry blasted a bases-clearing double in the fifth inning to give St. Dom’s the advantage in a 7-4 victory over Richmond.

Heidi Nadeau, Erynne Landry, and Alex Hewitt each hit RBI singles for the Saints (5-0), while Jenn Cullen collected the win, fanning six batters in the process.

Brianna Clifford paced Richmond (5-1) with a two-run triple, while Shelby Hurley and Cassie Hamilton ended the day each with two singles and one RBI.

Oak Hill 5, Camden Hills 0

WALES – Brittany Wood struck out seven batters and walked none to lead Oak Hill to a 5-0 blanking of Camden Hills on Wednesday.

Becca Roberts had two hits and three RBIs for the Raiders (4-1), while Kadie Rodrigue, Lauren Hall, and Deidra Dubuc each hit doubles.

Monmouth 10, Mountain Valley 3

RUMFORD – Jen Lola belted four hits, including two doubles and a triple, to lead Monmouth to a 10-3 victory over Mountain Valley in an MVC softball game Wednesday.

Jill Armstrong tossed a three-hitter and fanned seven for the Mustangs (4-1). Losing pitcher Elaina Waite and Shelby Moore combined to limit Monmouth to five hits.

Moore led the Falcons (0-5) with a triple and single, while Megan Mayfield hit a double.

Greely 5, Poland 1

POLAND – Krissey Taplin gave up nine hits, but got adequate run support as Greely cruised to a 5-1 victory over Poland.

The Rangers (6-1) were paced by Victoria Pisini with two hits and two RBIs, while Erika Zambelle belted a double.

The Knights (2-5) were led by Danielle Fogg with two hits and one RBI. Tori Hricko went the distance for Poland and held strong until the fifth inning.

Lacrosse

Messalonskee 12, Mountain Valley 3

RUMFORD – Miranda Tinsman tallied three goals to lead Messalonskee to a 12-3 triumph over Mountain Valley in girls lacrosse action held Wednesday.

Avery and Maddy Kadner, Ali Omsberg, and Hillary Flynn each added a pair of goals apiece, while Ally DeLisle and Abby Stacey rounded out the scoring for Messalonskee (1-3).

Mountain Valley (0-4) was lead by Brittany Coulombe with three goals in the first half.

Hebron 21, Hyde 8

BATH – K.J. Forand scored 10 goals while Shelly Bolduc added six as Hebron raced to a 21-8 rout over Hyde.

Maisie Matcalfe added two goals and two assists for the Lumberjacks, while single tallies by Katya Planson, Brianna Bisesti and Sarah Markey completed the scoring.

Ally Baribault needed only six saves to notch the win.
