AUBURN – Elaine Janna Dubois, 56, of Mexico, died Tuesday, May 6, at the Hospice House with her loving family by her side. She resided on Dix Avenue in Mexico.
She was born in Burton, Vt., on Oct. 20, 1951, a daughter of Ralph and Auria (Parent) Dubois. She was a graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford. She worked as a waitress at DiConzo’s Restaurant for many years.
She was loved by everyone. She enjoyed puzzle books, playing bingo, lifetime movies, playing on her computer, spending time with her granddaughters and her family and friends. She was a proud member of Rumford Falls Aerie 1248, FOE.
She resided with her companion of five years, Kenneth Armstrong of Mexico; her two sons, Richard Degan and his companion, Cheryl, of Rumford and Barnett Degan and his wife, Shawna, of Manchester; sisters, Lillian Bernard and her husband, David, of Scarborough and Irene Burdelak and her companion, Frank, of Florida; a brother, Ralph Dubois and his companion, Cecelia, of Rumford; brother-in-law Kenneth Gilks; two granddaughters, Kaylee-Mae and Olivia; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; a daughter, April; and a sister, Georgianna Gilks.
The family would like to thank Tammy Bean and all the good people at the Hospice House in Auburn for their care and kindness in her final days.
