TURNER – Sons of the American Legion Squadron 111 Commander Michael Chavez is inviting all veterans, families and friends to a free veterans concert to be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at Leavitt Area High School, Lower Street.
Music Teacher Bill Buzza said the band and chorus will present a concert of American music in the school auditorium. Buzza said, “We are inviting all veterans and their families to attend the free concert as an expression of our appreciation for your service to this great country.” Call Buzza at 225-4115 for more information.
Chavez is also inviting all sons, grandsons or stepsons of veterans to enlist in Squadron 111.
The next SAL meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at the Leavitt Institute Building community room, 98 Matthew Way.
The Turner Memorial Post 111, American Legion, is planning a Memorial Day ceremony on Sunday, May 25, at the World War I and II stone near the Turner Village Church. The event will begin at the closing of the Turner Village Church Sunday service at 11:30 a.m.
Members are asked to wear their covers at both events.
