It is quite clear by Paul St. Jean’s comments in his April 30 letter that he has never really spent any significant time listening to what he calls left-wing propaganda. If he had, he would realize that, unlike conservative talk programs, excellent hosts such as Tom Hartman, Ed Schultz and Rachael Madow actually allow people of opposing views to speak on their programs without shouting over them repeating the talking points of the day.
When confronted with the facts or a logical point of view, those callers have no response except to repeat the same talking points over and over.
As an avid listener of Air America, I have found that those hosts back up their statements with actual facts that one can look up and investigate on their own.
On the conservative side, all you hear are lies and distortion of the truth that, when investigated, are easily proven wrong with facts.
Conservative radio hosts follow the Karl Rove playbook – repeat the lies loud enough and often enough and they become truth.
Contrary to St. Jean’s position that the liberal talkers trash America, he could not be further from the truth. Those are people who believe in the Constitution, speaking truth to power, and thinking for themselves.
Sometimes the truth hurts. Bill O’Reilly has been professing the demise of Air America for years and it is still around, gaining more listeners every day.
This is proof that more of us want the real truth
