LEWISTON – Funeral services honoring the life of Gard W. Enman were held Thursday at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home with the Rev. Lionel Chouinard presiding. Father Chouinard read some words written in memory of Gard by his family during the service concluding with Lee Greenwood’s song,”Proud to Be an American.” Before forming a procession to the Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, the American Legion Honor Guard displayed their colors and banners in front of the funeral home as the pallbearers carried Mr. Enman’s casket to the hearse. After committal prayers by the Rev. Ralph Boisvert at the Maine Veterans’ Cemetery in Augusta, the Kennebec County Veterans Honor Detail led by Larry Dearborn, Chaplain Lu Lamoreau, and Sgt of Arms, Russell Tregembo presented their arms and then fired three vollies before the U.S. Army Honor Detail played “Taps” and presented our country’s flag to Gard’s son, Jason in recognition of his father’s service to his country during the Vietnam Conflict. The pallbearers were Wayne, Curtis and Kyle Enman, as well as Keith and Christopher Russell.
