AUBURN – Rachel P. Billings, 58, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully May 7 at the Hospice House, after a long battle with cancer.

She was born on Oct. 10, 1949, in Auburn, the daughter of Joseph and Lorette Fortier Chaput. She graduated from St. Dominic’s High School and then went onto the University of Maine at Farmington. In November 1968 she married Robert A. Billings. They lived and raised their family in Lewiston. She taught at McMahon Elementary for 25 years, and spent the last few years teaching at Turner Elementary. She took great pride in teaching children and enjoyed it very much. She also enjoyed traveling, scrapbooking, gardening and spending time with her dear friends.
