AUBURN – Rose A. Nadeau, 80, of Sabattus died Wednesday, May 7, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin after a long illness.
She was born in Canada April 5, 1928, the daughter of Alfred and Felixine (Paquette) Gauthier. She worked in the local shoe industry as a fancy stitcher. She later moved to Jackman, and owned and operated Mama Rose’s from 1973 to 1983. She retired and moved back to Lewiston.
She is survived by three sons, Alfred Nadeau and his wife, Viola, of Jackman, Paul Nadeau Jr. of Monmouth and Kim Nadeau of Kentucky; one daughter, Brenda Nadeau of Kentucky; two sisters, Margaret Panadis and her husband, Claude, of Canada, and Evelyn Grimmel of Sabattus; three brothers, Clement Gauthier of Lewiston, Rosaire Gauthier of Jackman and Victor Gauthier of Skowhegan; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Yolande and Angie; and two brothers, Gabriel and Marcel.
