AUBURN – Walking into City Hall is just a bit more pleasant these days, thanks to vibrant artwork created by local middle school students displayed in entryway cases.
Auburn students created cubist portraits in watercolors and mixed media images reminiscent of Georgia O’Keefe. Lewiston students’ work includes ceramics, block prints, black-and-white etchings, foil relief and creative name plaques.
The pieces, arranged by L/A Arts, will remain up through mid-June.
Over the last several years, L/A Arts has expanded its visual arts efforts in the community, maintaining the Art & Ale window at Gritty McDuff’s Brew Pub and the Art & Java Wall at Willy Bean’s Café and Bistro, and opening Gallery 5 at 49 Lisbon St., Lewiston.
