LEWISTON – Jacqueline A. “Jackie” St. Hilaire, 78, of 15 Maplewood Road, Lewiston, died peacefully surrounded by her loving and devoted family.
She was born in Auburn on Feb. 4, 1930, the daughter of Raoul and Cecile (Beaudoin) Roy. She was educated in local schools.
She worked at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo, Texas, for a few years while her husband, Camile “Bill,” was in the Air Force.
In 1969, she started working at St. Mary’s General Hospital in the intensive care unit and oncology department until her retirement in 1994.
On June 25, 1949, she married Camile “Bill” St. Hilaire. He died on July 3, 2004.
She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Holy Cross Senior Citizens and a volunteer for the Eucharistic Adoration at Holy Cross Parish.
She enjoyed music, traveling and dinning out, but most of all she cherished every moment with her loving family.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane Legendre and her husband, Roland, of Lewiston, and Lucie Bisson and her husband, Raymond, of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Sherrie Thomas and her husband, Robert, of Rutland, Mass., Steven Legendre and his girlfriend, Anne Elliott, of Attelboro, Mass., Michelle Bisson of Lewiston, and Daniel “Dan” Bisson and his wife, Melissa, of Lewiston; and three great-grandchildren, Zachary and Alyssa Thomas of Rutland, Mass., and Deagan Bisson of Lewiston.
She was predeceased by her parents; two sisters, Jeannette Hain and her husband, Clarence, and Rita St. Jean and her husband, Tony; and one brother, Leo Roy and his wife, Lucienne.
