Technology has given treasures to young teens, such as cell-phones, iPods and computers. Even though this has brought a new world to new eyes, it has also brought another world to bullying.

Cyber-bullying is just like bullying, but on the Internet. What’s worse is that if someone calls a person something racial, it’s someone anonymous. It could be anyone!

Myspace and Facebook are two of the most popular social sites for teens and tweens. But when surfing they should use caution; there are dangerous sharks swimming out there. Many of these new species of sharks are called predators. They lure many tweens and teens into their traps. They have false identities, often tricking them for sexual purposes. Other people can also make people do fatal things. Such as in a case where a girl on Myspace committed suicide after being called names on Myspace.

My opinion is that there should be more safety features for tweens and teens. I also think that you have command how you use the Internet and I recommend downloading safety software, like virus protectors, spam blockers, and a special scan, that allows you to scan for viruses. Parents should be involved in what their children are doing on the Internet.

Be careful when surfing, there are sharks out there swimming around in the digital sea.
