Puppy mills are a growing problem in today’s world. People just imprison animals and force them to have baby animals. They don’t pay for veterinary care and don’t feed them properly. If a person gets caught, they pay a fine, which is not enough to stop them.

According to The Humane Society of the United States, animals are kept in cages for their entire lives and if they can’t have more babies they are either killed or sold. That is bad and it must be stopped.

At www.stoppuppymills.com, it says that dogs get bought and within days they start getting ill. Hundreds of thousands of puppies are born each year in puppy mills. Puppies live there for six weeks, then are transported to stores and people’s houses. At stores they say that they are good quality dogs. Some of the time the breeders lie about this to get more money.

The puppies are cleaned to make them look better so customers think that they are healthy. That is probably the only time they get washed. At WGME’s Web site, they said that a house burned down that had a puppy mill. It had animals that could have lived if they weren’t caged up.

A way to stop puppy mills is to start adopting dogs from animal shelters.

Puppy mills are a problem that has to be stopped.
