Anorexia is a major problem in the United States. According to Science Magazine, Nov. 12, 2007, five to 10 million people suffer from this deadly disease. Anorexia is most common in females, but one million men suffer from it. I think that people should keep track of how many teens suffer from this disease.
People see themselves as someone fat when they are really thin because of this disease. Eighty-one percent of 10-year-olds are afraid of being fat. People with anorexia are obsessed with being thin and watching their weight. Teens should be less worried about their weight and how they look and should pay attention to their grades, their friends and their family.
I think parents should start caring more about their kids and give them attention, like talking to them once in a while. Parents should ask their children about school friends and family before more children suffer from anorexia. People should be aware of how many children suffer anorexia.
