NORWAY – The board of the Stephens Community Healthcare Foundation has announced that the application for grants from the foundation is available on the Western Maine Health Web site at www.wmhcc.org or at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

Applications will be accepted until June 1 and awards decided by Aug. 1.

Eligibility requirements for grants from the Stephens Community Health Care Foundation are tied to sustainable healthcare initiatives. The Stephens Community Healthcare Foundation is a nonprofit organization that was created in 1999.

The foundation’s primary purpose is to provide philanthropic support for the capital needs of Western Maine Health and Stephens Memorial Hospital.

The Stephens Community Healthcare Foundation awarded its first two grants in February, one to the Guy E. Rowe School and the other to Western Maine Foothills Land Trust in an effort to support the community in attaining more healthy lifestyles for the population and also as part of Western Maine Health’s community outreach in addressing obesity initiatives.
