RUMFORD – Edward E. Halacy, 65, of Coleman, Fla., and Rumford Center, died Sunday, May 11, at the Rumford Hospital.
He was born in Rumford, March 20, 1943, a son of Daniel and Evelyn (Holman) Halacy Sr., and graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford, Class of 1962.
Ed had worked as an A Operator in C Recovery at Mead Paper Co., Rumford, until retirement in August 2004, after more than 42 years.
He was a member of the Rumford United Methodist Church in Rumford; member of Rumford Falls Aerie 1248, F.O.E.; member NRA; member Eddington Salmon Club. He was an avid outdoors man and loved hunting and fishing, and especially enjoyed this past year hunting and fishing with his cousin Dick Halacy and best friend Willy Shurtleff.
He was married in Rumford on June 4, 1966, to the former Donna Anne Glover who survives of Coleman, Fla., and Rumford Center.
Other survivors include daughters, April Halacy of Rumford Center, Suzanne Halacy of Rumford and Heidi Halacy and companion, Aaron Carey, of Rumford; eight grandchildren; a brother, Daniel J. Halacy Jr. and wife, Bernice, of Logandale, Nev.; sisters, Joan Colby and husband, Widd, of Coleman, Fla., and Mary Bottomly of Sherrills Ford, N.C.
