GORHAM, N.H. – The Gorham Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15, in the Gorham Congregational Church vestry, corner of Church and Main streets.
Work is being done at the museum to ready it for opening in the next few weeks. More willing hands to help are needed. A special work day is being planned and will be announced at the meeting. There is inside and outside work to be done.
To leave a message, call 466-5338. Kathy Dick and Ralph Maxwell have put in numberless hours at the station with help from Reuben Rajala. The museum has a “new look” as displays have been rearranged and categorized.
The society is still holding a membership drive in conjunction with a challenge put to the state that any historical society, museum or library that gains the most members between November 2007 and October 2008, would be eligible for a $25,000 grant from a special foundation.
Anyone not a member yet of Gorham Historical Society is invited to find out more information by calling Mary Jane Ames at 603-466-2085. The cost is $10 for an individual or $20 for a family (children up through age 18). Students can join for $5 a year.
