NORWAY – Norman C.O. Miller, 95, of Waterford and formerly of College Street, Lewiston, died suddenly Sunday, May 11, at the Stephens Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Lewiston on Nov. 22, 1912, the son of Frank W. and Florence (Berry) Miller. He was a graduate of Jordan High School in Lewiston,Wagner School of Commercial Art in Boston, and Aero Industries Technical Institute in Los Angeles, Calif.

He married N. Althea Miller on July 2, 1936, in Portsmouth, N.H.

He retired in 1972, after working many years as a sign painter at the U.S. Naval Air Station in Brunswick.

He was an avid outdoorsman and was at one time a registered guide. He spent most of his free time hunting and fishing in Maine and Canada. He was also an accomplished painter working in oils and watercolor. Up until his death, he continued to sketch and do watercolors of the area around his home in Waterford.

He is survived by his son, Jonathan “Buzz” Miller and daughter-in-law, Linda, of Waterford; granddaughter, Lisa Lovejoy and her husband, David, of Augusta; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Jonathan and Victoria; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Rupert and Paul; sister, Dorothea; and his wife, N. Althea.
