BROWNFIELD – The Angel Band, a vocal group whose leads are based in Delaware, will perform at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at Stone Mountain Arts Center. The group’s new album, “With Roots & Wings,” will be released through Appleseed Recordings later this month.
Angel Band developed from a jam session of Delaware musicians at the home of folk legend David Bromberg and his wife, Nancy Josephson. The musicians gelled to create the organic band also featuring vocalists Jen Schonwald and Kathleen Weber.
“With Roots & Wings” ranges from Haitian inspired “Hey Papa Legba” to rootsy-country “I’m Coming Home to You.” The unifying factor of all 13 tracks is expert harmonies coupled with backing instrumentation.
