LEWISTON – Nancy L. Dudra-Soucy, 64, of Minot, passed away in the early hours of May 11, surrounded by her family at Central Maine Medical Center.
She was born April 24, 1944, in Lewiston, to Cora Moreau and the late Thomas Moreau. With her family, she moved to Connecticut in 1952. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Bridgeport, Conn., worked as a swimming instructor and graduated from St. Vincent’s LPN Program also in Bridgeport, Conn. She resided in Huntington, Conn., for more than 20 years.
In 1988, she followed her parents back to her roots in Maine. There, she began a glorious new chapter in life. She worked as a nurse for CMMC for 18 years, and treated each of her patients with dedication and extraordinary care. She’d often use her compassion for others and nursing abilities to serve the community.
She was a devoted Catholic her entire life, and volunteered at her church on many occasions. Just days before she died, she was sewing and knitting for the next church fundraiser.
What made her life so special in Maine was her relationship with her husband, Conrad Soucy. Together, their passions included camping and traveling throughout the state of Maine, when he performed as a musician.
She leaves her husband, Conrad Soucy of Minot; her sons, David Dudra of Shelton, Conn., and Craig Soucy of Carmel; her daughter, Karin Dudra of Avon, Conn.; her grandson, Christopher Soucy; her mother, Cora Moreau of Lewiston; her brother, Thomas Moreau and his wife, Gloria, of Lewiston; her brother, Robert Plessis of Turner; two aunts; an uncle; and several nieces and nephews and their families.
