FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. – Thomas Phillip Hooke, founder of Tom Hooke Guide Service of Canada and Maine, passed away on May 7, in Florida.
He was born in Wells on July 19, 1939. He made many contributions to the local area of Rangeley in the early 1960s by starting the first in state high school cooperative part time work and education program.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Carmen (DeRaps); a son, Peter Joseph Hooke; brothers, Richard Hooke and Fran Hooke; sisters, Linda Schroeder and Jane VanZant; and five grandchildren.
