JAY – The School Committee will appoint someone to fill a the seat of Nancy Chaney after the June 10 election, Superintendent Robert Wall said.

Chaney resigned for personal reasons earlier this month, he said.

The remaining members have been advised that since it is too late to have another candidate run for election on June 10, they could appoint someone to serve a one-year term after the vote, Wall said.

Incumbent committee members Chairwoman Mary Redmond-Luce and Marga Hutchinson are running unopposed for re-election to the board.
