HIGHLAND, Mich. – Trudy Drapeau returned home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the morning of May 12. She died in Highland, Mich., after a long illness.
The firstborn daughter of Adrienne O. and Bertha Roux Anctil, she grew up in Lewiston and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1950. She earned a baccalaureate in home economics from Farmington State Teachers College in 1954, and a master of education from State College at Bridgewater, Mass., in 1962.
She taught junior high and high school home economics in Connecticut and Massachusetts, before taking her most important and favorite adventure of staying home to raise her two children. She retired from teaching once again in 2003, after 20 years in the Biddeford schools. She returned to Lewiston/Auburn for several years before moving to Michigan earlier this year.
She is survived by her son, Michael J. Drapeau (Cathy Pearl) of Warren; daughter, Suzanne Morley (Michael) of Highland, Mich.; three grandchildren, Cierra Pearl of Warren and Christopher and Jack Morley of Highland, Mich.; aunt Bernadette Anctil of Lewiston; brothers, Lionel Anctil (Pat) of Lewiston and Robert Anctil (Donna) of British Columbia, Canada; sister, Pauline Cote (Roland) of Lewiston; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and very dear friends.
She was predeceased by her parents; and firstborn nephew, Thomas O. Anctil.
