Sunday speaker

PARIS – The speaker for the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, May 18, at the First Universalist Church, Pine Street, will be Silver Moore-Leamon. The title of her sermon is “The Time of Our Life.”

Music is under the direction of Forest Perkins and Sunday school is under the direction of Renee Wales. Coffee and fellowship will follow the service and all are welcome. Child care is available.

Lilac festival

PARIS – The Lilac Festival will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Monday, May 23 to 26, at the McLaughlin Garden. Perennials and lilacs will be on sale all weekend, and the historic house, gift shop and café will be open as well. A $5 donation is requested.

Free garden tours will be held at 11 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. Lilac care workshops will take place at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Tables available

OXFORD – The Oxford Fire Relief Organization will hold its annual garage and craft sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at the Oxford Public Safety Building, Route 26. Proceeds will help fund equipment for the Oxford Fire Dept.

Anyone who would like to rent a table is welcome. There will be a $10 fee; to reserve a table, call, Fran Perkins at 539-4891 or Stacia Cordwell at 539-2929.

The organization is also looking for help from the community through donations of articles or bake sale goods.
