Andy Whitney, a senior in Telstar’s Challenge course, helps clean trash from the Androscoggin River in West Bethel on Thursday. The program, coordinated by the Upper Androscoggin Anglers Alliance as part of the National River Cleanup effort, involved 16 students form Telstar along with community volunteers. Two rafting companies, Magic Falls Rafting and Professional River Runners, donated the rafts, and the town of Bethel donated the tipping fee and transported the final collection of refuse.
