WILTON – The Wilton Community Group Against Violence will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at the |Western Maine Community Action service center, Routes 2 and 4. Newcomers are welcome.
The group, formed a couple of months ago, recently offered a community training on domestic violence and sexual assault. The group is hoping more people from the surrounding area will join them to address sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse and elder abuse. The group would like to plan further events to create a violence-free community.
The group includes members of the Wilton Police Department, board of selectmen, churches, students, community members and representatives from agencies and is looking to expand its membership.
