Dear Sun Spots: I read your great column every day. I have two questions I hope you can answer. What has happened to the Mike Gallagher talk show from noon to 3 p.m. on Fox News radio? I also used to look forward all week to the Bill Gaither program on Saturday night. Why is this program no longer on the air? – Laura, Lewiston.

Answer:
Calls and e-mails to WLOB Radio News Talk 96.3 FM and 1310 AM were not returned. The noon to 3 p.m. time slot has been filled by Neal Boortz since April 1. According to a post by Ray Richardson on an asmainegoes.com forum, you’ll be happy to note that the Mike Gallagher radio show is still on the station, but has been moved to Saturdays from 4 to 6 p.m. He explained that the Mike Gallagher show is tape delayed and Neal Boortz is live at noon.

Also, you can listen to Bill Gaither’s Homecoming Radio Show on WBCI 105.9 FM on Saturday from 3 to 4 p.m.

Dear Sun Spots: The West Paris Keep ‘Em Warm group has made nearly 200 items for Christmas for Kids, homeless teens, and any others needing warm wearables for next winter. In January, we appealed to the public for worsted-weight 4-ply yarn. We were fortunate to have many generous donations. However, with five of us knitting and crocheting hats, mittens, scarves, slippers and headbands daily, we find our yarn supply nearly exhausted. Once again we ask the Oxford Hills area residents to help supply us. Last year, the Christmas for Kids program alone had about 600 recipients. To arrange for yarn pickup, for more information or to join the handicrafters, please call Sylvia McCann 674-2114. – Sylvia, West Paris.

Dear Sun Spots: On Feb. 2, I wrote to you in regards to the Autumn Day Spa. My husband and I have a $200 gift certificate for the spa. At the time, you called me and said that Crystal Lavoie, the owner, was looking for a new place, since the building she was in had to be vacated. We have been away for six weeks, and I wanted to know if there have been any new developments on this. We have not received a letter stating that she is back in business, and would like to know if you have been in contact with her in regards to this matter. Any information you could give us on this would be greatly appreciated. – Joline, Lewiston.

Answer: Unfortunately, Sun Spots has not been in contact with the owner of the spa. We are not aware of it reopening at this time. Perhaps readers will have more information to share. The owner did submit a posting to Sun Spots in February that stated: “I am in the process of trying to find another location so please keep your eye out for a advertisement in the Sun Journal of the new location. Unfortunately, it is going to take some time because I have to reapply for my license and go through the inspections again. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. All gift certificates will be fully redeemable when we reopen. Thank you. Crystal.”

We will keep you informed of any news on the reopening of the spa.
