LISBON – Livermore Falls scored a run in the top of the seventh and held on for a 7-6 triumph over Lisbon in MVC softball action Monday.

Kathrynn Lake and Marissa Welch provided the Andies with a triple each, while Brittany Souther and Chelsie Morris provided a double each. Emily Moore had the only extra base hit for the Greyhounds with a double.

Lisbon scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, but Whitney McDaniel survived the inning to notch the pitching victory for Livermore Falls.

Mountain Valley 13, Wiscasset 5

RUMFORD – Shawnee Akers hit a pair of doubles and Elaina Waite had a douible and triple to power Mountain Valley to a 13-5 victory over Wiscasset.

Lynsie Gallant and Shelby Moore also hit triples for the Falcons (3-6). Akers, Waite and Gallant had three hits each. Moore scattered two singles to pick up the win.

Monmouth 5, Mt. Abram 3

SALEM – Jenn Lola smacked a triple and Alyssa Morin hit three singles to help Monmouth record a 5-3 win over Mt. Abram Monday. Kara Strout hit a double for the the Mustangs, as well.

For Mt. Abram, Jade Luce hit a double.

Telstar 7, Madison 2

BETHEL – Kayla Merrill earned the win, fanning 11 batters, as Telstar beat Madison, 7-2.

After Madison loaded the bases in the first inning with only one out, Merrill struck out the next two batters, and then the side in the third, to prevent the Bulldogs (5-5) from scoring. Whitney Mills had a triple, while Julia Stambolis hit a double for the Rebels (8-1) win.

Jessica Hayden had a double and an RBI for Madison.

Georges Valley 35, Dirigo 1

DIXFIELD – Ashley Geel smashed four home runs and Desiree Smith added a pair to lead unbeaten Georges Valley to a 35-1 victory over Dirigo.

Alex Watts also hit a home run, one of seven on the day for the Bucs (11-0).

Kyme Dolloff had Dirigo’s lone hit. Morgan Hutchins scored the only run, when she walked, stole second, and scored on two errors.

Hall-Dale 6, Jay 3

FARMINGDALE – Danielle Beault led all players with a two-run double as Hall-Dale edged past Jay to record a 6-3 win Monday.

Colby Houdlett had an RBI double for the Bulldogs (8-2) win as well and Kayla Barton smacked a pair of singles. Jocelyn Tripp struck out six batters en route to earning the win.

St. Dom’s 18, Traip 3

KITTERY – Lindsey Nance tossed eight strikeouts as St. Dom’s rolled over Traip Academy in WMC softball action Monday.

Mary Lewis and Jen Cullen compiled four hits apiece for the Saints (8-1) during the red hot hitting spree.

The Rangers (0-8) scored three runs in the first inning, but the offense went cold from there.

Poland 8, Falmouth 0

FALMOUTH – Kristy Gray collected a pair of doubles in a seven-run fifth inning as Poland sailed to an 8-0 shutout win over Falmouth in WMC softball action Monday.

The defensive highlight of the game was a 6-3-6 double play turned by Poland shortstop Jen Baril and first-baseman Cacie-Rae Ford.

On a routine grounder to short, Baril fired the ball to Ford, who returned the throw to Baril at third.
