BUCKFIELD – The Buckfield baseball team won both games over Greenville by just one run, taking the first 9-8, and recording a 3-2 win in the nightcap.
In Game 1, Kyle Ryan had three hits, including a single that drove in the game-winner in the bottom of the seventh. Tony Fortier had three hits, which included a double, while Justin Woodcock, Josh Emery, Cy Wilkinson, and Brian Litchfield each smacked a pair of singles. Joe Gilbert led the way for Greenville with a single and a double.
Fortier paved the way in the second match, with two singles and a triple. Woodcock had another pair of hits in the Bucks’ win. The Greenville effort was led by Jim Post with a double and a single.
Mtn. Valley 17, Wiscasset 6 (5 inn.)
RUMFORD – Alex Gagnon had three hits and four RBIs, while Justin Staires smacked two doubles, one of which drove in a run, to lead Mountain Valley to a 17-6 win in five innings.
Garrett McPherson contributed an RBI double, Keith Brennick had two hits and three RBIs, and Matt Laubauskas had a pair of hits for the Falcons (8-1) win.
Jim Davis and Matt Etter each hit doubles for the Wiscasset (2-7) effort.
Telstar 18, Madison 1 (5 inn.)
BETHEL – Telstar capitalized on several walks in a 10-run first inning and walked off with a dominating, 18-1 win over Madison in five innings on Monday.
Bryce Walker smacked a two-run double, and finished the day with three hits and three runs for the Rebels. Mike Fleet hit a double and Ben Cross had a pair of hits.
Falmouth 7, Poland 0
FALMOUTH – Winning pitcher Alex Skillin smacked an RBI double as Falmouth blanked Poland 7-0 in a WMC baseball match-up Monday afternoon. Skillin finished the game with two hits for the Falcons (7-2).
For Poland (7-5), Jackie MacVane hit a triple.
Monmouth 20, Mt. Abram 2 (5 inn.)
SALEM – Robbie Honson had two hits and four runs batted in as Monmouth rolled past Mt. Abram 20-2 in a five inning MVC baseball contest.
Eric Smith had two hits, a single and a triple, and two RBIs, while Mike Tozier smacked a three-run triple for the Mustangs (7-4) win.
Greg Dexter hit an RBI double for Mt. Abram (2-9), while Dylan Tisor finished the game with two hits.
Oak Hill 10, Erskine 7
WALES – Chris Ellis hit a two-run double to lead Oak Hill to a 10-7 win over Erskine Monday.
Brett Turcotte finished the day with three singles, Tom Edgecomb had an RBI double, while Joe Morreault, Jared Parkin, and Brandon Plourde each had a pair of hits a piece for the Raiders’ win.
St. Dom’s 5, Traip 2
KITTERY – Ben Randall blasted a home run in the fourth inning as St. Dom’s recorded a 5-2 win over Traip.
Joey Gwozdz smacked a double, and Randall brought him home with a hard hit single for the Saints (9-1), as well.
John Dickinson and Bill Lemoureax each hit a double in the Traip (7-3) effort.
