AUBURN – Gee & Bee swept its way through a pair of Auburn Suburban Little League Major Softball contests last week.
The sporting goods gang topped Pepsi, 8-4. Kory Norcross racked up 12 strikeouts in the pitching victory. Ashlee Arnold amassed three hits, including a home run. Norcross ripped a double and a single, and Miranda Johnson also slapped a single. Kelsey Butcher pitched an exceptional game for Pepsi and added a hit to her team’s attack. Emily Bolduc and Danielle Rock also were hitters for Pepsi.
Arnold struck out nine as the winning pitcher in a 10-3 triumph over Crystal Springs. Arnold, Norcross and Megan Freitas each were multiple hitters. Hannah Farrington, Hannah Delong and Kyle Martin each produced a hit for Crystal.
ASLL baseball
AUBURN – HRH picked up a pair of ASLL baseball wins last week.
Brian Crane tossed a five-inning no-hitter in a 10-0 victory over Pepsi. Crane struck out 11 and walked only two. Cole Butler, Zach Hurd, Bryce Gibson, Evan Raymond, Crane and Mason Bosse all were repeat hitters for HRH. Owen Voisine and Steve Sinclair each notched a hit.
Jared Plourde made a splendid catch in left field for Pepsi. John Tuttle, C.J. Jipson, Drew Lashua and Brandon Polisky also played terrific defense for the pop group. Polisky and Ian Mileikis did the pitching.
HRH kept lashing out the hits in a 12-2 victory over Hardy, Wolf & Downing in Auburn Suburban Little League action. Bryce Gibson and Zach Hurd combined for the pitching victory. Travis Lowell, Brandon Binette and Brandon Dubuc shared the mound duties for HWD. Brandon Knapp, Cole Butler, Cam Raymond, Brian Crane, Gibson, Evan Raymond and Mason Bosse all contributed hits for HRH. Max Goodwin and Bosse provided stellar defense for the Insurance men. Binette was a repeat hitter for the firm, while Jack Coyne chipped in with the glove.
South Lewiston
LEWISTON – South Lewiston Little League hosted a Pitch, Hit & Run competition Saturday for area youth. The following players won first place honors in their respective age groups:
Ages 7-8
Pitch champion: Jack Leblond
Hit, Run and Overall champion: Isaiah Fraser
Ages 9-10
Run Champion: Elijah Harris
Pitch champions: Nate Albert, Nathan Osgood, Cameron Shurtleff, Austin Wing and Dalton Wing
Hit and Overall champion: Nate Albert
Ages 11-12
Run champion: Sheon James
Pitch champion: Taylor Vaillancourt
Hit champions: Andrew Gosselin and Alex Small
Overall champion: Alex Small
Ages 13-14
Hit champion: Coleman Morency
Pitch, Run and Overall champion: Jacob Kendall
The winners will now compete in the Sectional competition, to be held May 31 in Bangor. Sectional all-around champions become eligible to qualify for the team championship, to be held at Fenway Park in Boston.
