I am writing in support of Margaret Craven’s candidacy for the Maine Senate.

Some politicians talk a lot about health care and the value of a human life. Rep. Craven actually follows her words with action.

To cite an example from my life: My wife received a late diagnosis of colon cancer due to the then-existing policies denying health insurance for colonoscopies. My wife asked me to contact Craven to enlist her support to change that policy. When Craven learned that lives could be saved by changing that policy, she quietly went to work with others to change the law.

To make a long story short, on the day of my wife’s funeral, that new law passed the Maine Legislature.

While the change in law came too late to save my wife’s life, I am confident that thousands of lives will be saved thanks to Rep. Craven.
