PARIS – The town’s Department of Parks and Recreation will host an encore performance of the art show and festival held in historic Moore Park for the first time last summer.

The second annual Moore Art – In the Park, conceived by local artist Brenda Ellis-Sauro, will be held from 9 to 4 p.m. Aug. 2, with a rain date of Aug. 3.

Last year, the event featured more than 40 fine artists and artisans on the grounds all day, along with revolving music and other performance arts in the gazebo; food vendors; and a children’s corner adjacent to the playground.

Thousands of dollars in purchase prizes were awarded, and plans are in the works for more prizes this year. Artists interested in exhibiting at the show may do so for $40. Festival application forms are available at the Town Office and online at town.paris.me.us/summer.html.

Performance artists interested in participating in the festival should contact the Department of Parks and Recreation at 743-2501, extension 107.
